Background and the solution that did not work
I have another machine dedicated to OpenBSD now and I’m not using the Slackware that is dual-booted with XP on our family computer and wish to delete the Linux partition and merge it back to Windows.
First thing I did was create a bootable XP USB drive using Novicorp’s WinToFlash app. It managed to create a bootable XP (I’ll create a how to for that later) but the Windows FIXMBR and/or FIXBOOT command on the Recovery Console failed to delete the LILO bootloader from the harddisk’s MBR.
